Òîò ñîãëàøàåòñÿ, íî ñ óñëîâèåì — Ñìåðòü çàáåð¸ò ó Õðàíèòåëÿ àìóëåò, â êîòîðîì çàêëþ÷åíû äóøè ðàñû Íåôèëèìîâ — áðàòüåâ è ñåñò¸ð Ñìåðòè. Íî Ñìåðòü îòêàçûâàåòñÿ çàáðàòü àìóëåò. Ïîñëå ñõâàòêè ñ Õðàíèòåëåì Ñìåðòü âñ¸ æå óçíà¸ò, ÷òî åìó íóæíî íàéòè Äðåâî Æèçíè, ÷òîáû âîñêðåñèòü ÷åëîâå÷åñòâî. Îäíàêî âî âðåìÿ ñõâàòêè àìóëåò ðàçáèâàåòñÿ, è åãî ÷àñòè âðåçàþòñÿ â ãðóäü Ñìåðòè.

StorylineThe action of Darksiders II unfolds after the Apocalypse and the destruction of the Third Kingdom (Earth). The rider The war is in custody and awaits the judgment of the Charred Council. When suspicions of betrayal of War are reported to the rest of the Horsemen (Death, Rage and Strife), Death decides to atone for the sins of the brother, to erase the crime itself - that is, to restore the Third Kingdom.
In search of a way to resurrect Mankind, Death travels to a dimension beyond the three Kingdoms, called the Veil, where the Guardian of Secrets dwells, in which Death hopes to learn the answers to his questions. He agrees, but with the condition - Death will take from the Guardian an amulet, in which the souls of the Nefilim race - brothers and sisters of Death - are enclosed. But Death refuses to take the amulet. After the battle with the Guardian, Death still recognizes that he needs to find the Tree of Life to resurrect humanity. However, during the fight, the amulet is broken, and its parts crash into the breast of Death.
