Bring up the topic "FPS" the next... | Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Bring up the topic "FPS" the next time you're with your friends. I bet most of them will think of Call of Duty, Battlefield, Gears of War or all the other big name games, or there might be that one guy who says CS:GO. COD has about 100,000,000 players according to Activision after the release of COD: Modern Warfare in 2007. Only an all-time peak of 819,902 people have played CSGO since its release in 2012, but the CSGO community is constantly growing. CS:GO mainly focuses on the current crises pitted against Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists, both teams in game. There are 5 game modes you can pick to play, Deathmatch, Arms Race, Demolition, Casual, and Competitive. In Casual and Competitive, there are two situations, Bomb Defusal, and Hostage Situation, both real situations. In Bomb Defusal, one Terrorist has a c4 explosive and has to get to either point A or point B to plant it. The other Terrorists will either go crazy and attack all the Counter-Terrorists or protect the bomb-carrier, as I like to call it. The Counter-Terrorists have to kill all the Terrorists if they haven't already planted the bomb. There is a 45 second detonation time for the bomb, so the CTs have to work together to kill terrorists and defuse the bomb before it explodes. If the bomb explodes before the CTs get to it, it means an automatic win to the Terrorist team, regardless of the amount of players still alive. A defusal means an automatic win the the CT team, regardless of the amount of players still alive. Hostage Situation is a situtation where there are hostages in orange jumpsuits placed in certain spots on the map, and the CTs have to rescue one of them and carry them to the hostage rescue zone to win the round. The Terrorists have to kill all the CTs to win the round. Casual has 8 rounds and the team who wins 8 rounds, wins the game. You can drop in and drop out of games without any consequences. Competitive is perhaps the more serious side of CS:GO. It is the same thing as Casual, but if you decide to leave the server, you get a Competitive cooldown time lasting from 6 hours I think. There are 4 types of weapons that affect your gameplay. Each weapon has their own unique form of recoil and recoil compensation. For 45 seconds, you can buy weapons, gear, or grenades with the amount of money you start off with at your spawn. But enough about the game...

IMO CS:GO has the most succesful Community Market. It is so succesful that people are willing to spend $400 dollars on a virtual knife **cough** **cough** Karambit **cough** **cough**or $40 dollars on a virtual gun skin. Skins are decals that can be dropped, bought on the Community Market, or unboxed with a crate and a key. They make your default weapons look good (or bad depending on the skin.) My personal favorites that I have are the M4A4- ?? Dragon King, Desert Eagle- Naga, and the AK-47- Elite Build. They also have certain grades from Consumer to Contraband. There is also wear on them, from Battle-Scarred to Factory New. If you get a Factory New skin, it doesn't wear to Battle-Scarred by playing on CS:GO a lot.

Well if you read the LOOOONGESSSSTTTTT review I've ever written about a game until the end, thank you! If you just skipped to this part, meh, this is the part that's important. If I were to rate this game by stars (1 being the worst, 5 being the best,) I would rate it 4.5 stars, due to the people that treat CS:GO like it's their life and the people who kick because you stole their kill. The community is growing. Right now it's a little sapling, but with a lot of water and sunshine, it can become a grand tree
